Pangnirtung Canada Postcard

Known as 'Pang' to locals, this picturesque hamlet is located on a narrow coastal plain against the backdrop of the massive mountains of Pangnirtung Fiord. It is celebrated as a major centre for Inuit art, particularly traditional weaving and printmaking at the Uqqurmiut Centre. The town is the gateway to the southern entrance of Auyuittuq National Park. The surrounding landscape is defined by dramatic cliffs and the deep, cold waters of the fiord, where the tides can vary significantly. In the summer, the hills are covered in purple saxifrage, adding a splash of colour to the granite-heavy Arctic scenery.
