    Photograph taken by Charles Marville, one of the greatest French photographers, during the 1850s and 1860s, when he documented the old streets of Paris prior to their remodelling. His photographs are now regarded as some of the finest examples of nineteenth-century urban photography. His skill earned him the title of official photographer of Paris. This particular photograph shows the Passage du Dragon.
