Paul Signac - Woman with a Parasol Postcard

Woman with a Parasol (Femme à l'ombrelle), painted by Paul Signac in 1893, portrays his wife Berthe Roblès in profile beneath a parasol. Signac sets green against red-orange and yellow against violet, using flattened space, stylised curves and a decorative flower to create a distinctly Neo-Impressionist portrait. This oil on canvas, inscribed Opus 243, is held by the Musée d'Orsay.
