It's hard to know what you can do at times like this to help alleviate the suffering of people in distant lands. Apart from donating materially, I feel that talking to people, and educating them on the nature of apartheid oppression in Palestine is very important. Global public opinion is adjusting to see the conflict in a more balanced way thanks to new media and news sources. You can play your part by engaging in calm, rational conversations with people who may not be aware of the situation and its context. This message is an expression of solidarity with the downtrodden and powerless who are suffering most in this conflict - the people of Gaza. But it not intended to disregard the suffering and fear felt by people in Israel. We are all human, we all feel pain. I am glad to see so many demonstrations in Israel against the operation in Gaza and against the Occupation. May this suffering end for all involved. Speak. Be heard. Good luck.
