Memphis Style was developed in the eighties as a push back against the formulaic designs at the time. It is one of the most instantly recognisable design styles. It is best known for its use of bright neon, primary and pastel colors, geometric shapes, and bold, repetitive patterns, most of which do not match and tend to clash very badly. You either love it or hate it as it is a mish-mash of various design styles and intended to shock.
