Boulevard Montmartre, Spring (Boulevard Montmartre, matinée de printemps), painted by Camille Pissarro in 1897, captures the Paris boulevard from a high hotel window in spring. Trees, buildings, carriages and pedestrians fill the broad avenue beneath a luminous sky, turning everyday city traffic into a lively Impressionist scene. This oil on canvas is held by the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
