Planet Portal Tie I © M.Light ii

Original artwork from "Planet Portal," a crystalline image made by M.Light. This artwork was initially made in a liquid state and crystallised on transparent glass. Liquid substances, along with dyes and inks, were carefully selected, applied to thin sheets of glass, and allowed to set. Approximately 72 hours later, depending on the nature of the application, the crystal image was formed. Later it was digitised and viewed on the computer. In the case of "Planet Portal", I used illustrator and photoshop and added to the image, creating a kind of digital collage. Detail from "Planet Portal" © Melanie Light.
