He has olive skin, brown hair that is in curls, and brown eyes. He is staring at the viewer with some degree of self-confidence and assurance. He is wearing a red cap typical of the period. His body is covered with a brown tunic. The man in the painting is a young city dweller from Florence. The original artwork is thought to have been painted around 1483.
