Poster/Print: Waterfall - by Maxfield Parrish Poster
"Waterfall" was made by the American Artist Maxfield Parrish. The image was used on a 1931 calendar for General Electric Mazda Lamp. The medium is oil on panel. ~ Parrish's paintings are a combination of fantasy landscapes and fairy tales, with saturated colour and luminosity. He would apply bright layers of thin oil paint, alternating with varnish over stretched paper to get the luminous effects he was known for. He would often build depth by cutting out images and adding them to his paper, coating them with layers of glaze.

I stumbled on to the website by searching for Maxfield Parrish prints to perhaps replace the old print that was in to mirror, long neglected and in complete disrepair. I ordered and the print arrived in perfect condition and sooner than I expected. The print was absolutely perfect for the replacement. My husband trimmed it and framed into the old frame above the old mirror. Everyone who has seen it has commented. The theme, as we live on a waterfall, here in Hawaii, is perfect. The print itself is just right for the old frame and mirror.

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame.
This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again.
One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up.
Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font.
Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
