    Puako Coast Canoe Canvas Print

    This painting was created on the Big Island of Hawaii. The scene is from my old neighbourhood Puako Beach Drive. This particular place is actually called Secrets, and back in the early 80's my dad used to camp here. The View of the Mountain is Kohala, you can see the transition of green to brown where the rain line of the winward side meets the dry leeward side. There is some small surf, and a Wa'a or polynesian style sailing canoe is just offshore. This painting was worked on for several sessions and completed in my studio in Puna.
