    This design is from my original painting of a bunch of pussywillow twigs. I grew up in eastern Maine, where one of the first signs of spring is the appearance of pussywillow catkins, often when the ground is still covered with snow. This painting calls to mind a rainy, early spring day; a welcome thaw with the promise of warmer weather to come!
