RARE WHITE LION MOUSE MAT
This very rare white lioness (about six years old) is one of only six white lions alive in the wild today. White lions are not albino, but a product of a leucistic gene which both parents must have in order to produce a white lion. She is part of a pride that also includes a one-year-old female lion. Life is hard for those who do not blend into the background colors of the area in which they live. White coloring makes them a target, and they are often wounded when hunting or eating. We saw this beauty for the first time in 2021, and then again when this photo was created, in 2025. Photo taken in South Africa, July 2025.
