Red Green White Christmas Candy Cane Style Stripes Wrapping Paper

Red Green White Christmas Candy Cane Style Stripes Wrapping Paper

Red green and white cheerful candy cane coloured stripes, horizontal pattern, perfect for the Christmas holiday season for gifts or decor! Bright and festive, this design is based on peppermint striped candy canes which are traditionally associated with Christmas. The origin of candy canes isn't known for sure, but according to European folklore they were first created by a candymaker in the town of Cologne, Germany. The church choir master asked the man to make some candy sticks to help keep the children quiet during the Christmas Eve service. To justify giving candy in church, the candymaker put a hook on one end of the sticks, so they would resemble shepherds' crooks or staffs, and thus be related to the nativity scene. This story may or may not be true as it can't be verified. Candy canes were first recorded in association with Christmas in 1874; they were also known to be hung on Christmas trees at that time. In any case candy canes and their identifiable stripes have been traditional symbols of the season for many generations.

I love this paper and it was large enough to put on the back of a glazed cabinet. It’s had lots of comments. I painted the interior to extend the image and it was very pleased with the result.

I really liked this product, the picture is lovely and the colours are really nice. I wanted it to up-cycle a writing bureau and I was concerned that the paper may be too thin. But it wasn't and it worked fine. On the pictures I have uploaded the print looks a bit aged and not so vivid and new looking. As I wanted an aged patina but the actual print is clearer and the colours are brighter. The colour and prints are good.

Very strong quality paper used. I used it to cover a lampshade, and it looks stunning now. Vibrant and vivid. Such lovely colours.
