Red Interior:Chateau de Fontainebleau Postcard
Original oil painting by Californian artist, Susan Payne-Trutna of a beautiful room in Chateau de Fontainebleau, France. In 1805 Napoleon furnished this room with chairs covered with scarlet and gold brocade. The chairs of gilt wood were made by Moncion. The small round table with its bronzed column rests on a flower carpet produced by the Tournai factory. This room is famous because Napoleon signed his abdication here on April 6th, 1814.
