The girls (Francisca and Angelina Wartenberg) are gathering and holding oranges, which rather than being juggling props are said to be treats thrown to them by an appreciative audience. Pierre-Auguste Renoir was one of the founders of the Impressionist movement. A very prolific painter, he painted scenes from French life as well as a lot of images of his family.
