About This Design

Saint Hilary of Poitiers Doctor of the Church Invitation

Saint Hilary of Poitiers Doctor of the Church Invitation

A noble and historically grounded portrayal of Saint Hilary of Poitiers (c. 310–367), the Gallo‑Roman bishop, theologian, and one of the earliest Latin Doctors of the Church. Born in Pictavium (modern Poitiers), he converted to Christianity as an adult and was elected bishop around 353. Renowned as the “Hammer of the Arians” (Malleus Arianorum) and the “Athanasius of the West”, Hilary became a leading defender of Nicene orthodoxy during the Arian crisis of the 4th century. His writings, especially De Trinitate, introduced Greek theological thought into Western Christianity and shaped the Church’s understanding of the Trinity. Exiled for his steadfast defense of the faith, he returned to Gaul as a revered teacher and spiritual leader. Canonized in antiquity and proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1851, he remains a symbol of intellectual courage, doctrinal clarity, and the harmonious union of faith and reason. Ideal for devotional art, educational materials, church décor, and designs celebrating early Christian theology and patristic heritage.

So happy with the outcome! They are absolutely perfect, just what I imagined and more. Will be rrcommending this site to family and friends. Thank you. Printing was clear and visable. I was a little worried as one side was blue but it turned out great.
