Saint Teresa of Avila Apron

Saint Teresa of Ávila, a 16th-century Spanish mystic and reformer, was a pivotal figure in the Catholic Counter-Reformation. Despite facing opposition, she founded the Discalced Carmelite order, emphasising poverty, prayer, and contemplation. Teresa's spiritual writings, including her autobiography "The Life of Teresa of Jesus," are renowned for their depth and insight into the mystical union with God. Canonised in 1622 and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1970, she is revered as a patroness of Spain and a model of spiritual perfection and reform.
