Saladin Citadel Egypt Magnet

Perched on a high limestone hill overlooking Cairo, the Saladin Citadel is a mediaeval Islamic fortification that served as the seat of government in Egypt for nearly 700 years. Founded by Saladin in 1176 to protect the city from Crusaders, the massive complex contains several mosques, palaces, and museums, making it one of the most significant historical sites in the capital.
