Santa with Bagful of Toys in Snow acrylic painting Coffee Mug
A well rounded Santa strides through the night with his very large bag of Christmas gifts for children. I painted my more modern Santa with acrylics, in an older style of Father Christmas but with the smile and girth of our popular concept of Santa Claus.
It is night as he makes his rounds, alone without a reindeer in sight as it was with Father Christmas. He walks with only a slender crescent of moon to light his way, but we know Santa will soon deliver his presents.
Take a closer look at Santa's bag of gifts and you will see three stuffed bears, a horse, a nutcracker soldier, a bunny rabbit, cloth doll with pink cheeks, a drum, trumpet and at the top a small spruce tree. A tradition at Christmas this tree is surely destined to be decorated by a family that was unable to obtain one themselves. Thank you, Santa.
