Uesugi bamboo grass T-Shirt

The bamboo and sparrow crest was a family crest used by the Kajuji family, a kuge (court noble), and the Uesugi clan, a samurai family. Therefore, the crest was mainly distributed in areas related to the Kajuji family and the Uesugi clan. The Kajuji family was based in Kyoto, while the Uesugi clan was based in Sagami Province and had influence in Musashi, Kozuke, Echigo, and Ou provinces. As this crest was considered a symbol of honor, second only to the peony crest, it was rarely given to vassals, resulting in a limited geographical distribution, unlike crests such as the tomoe or the nine-luminous-body crest.
