Firestorms have engulfed the continent of Australia. Many people and animals have lost their lives to recent bushfires that have devastated the landscape. Wildfires have spread worldwide from California in the United States to the Amazon of South America and on to Australia when the sky has turned orange from the glow of raging fires. The global warming of climate change is exacerbating heat waves in the summer season. Much of the coastal population has been affected and driven to the sea for safety.
