Scottish Brodie Clan's Castle Photo Wall Clock

Scottish Brodie Clan's Castle Photo Wall Clock

A brilliant summer photo of Brodie Castle in Morayshire, Scotland, features wildflowers in the foreground of this decorative wall clock. The Scottish Clan of the same name, which has such ancient beginnings no one knows when it began, spent generations and centuries here. Perhaps the people of the clan are related to Pictish kings. Or perhaps they are Gaelic or even Norman. The current Brodie Castle is a lime-harled Z plan tower house with ornate corbelled battlements and bartizans. Because of the hazy past, the meaning of the clan name is also mysterious and unknown as it has been spelled numerous ways over the many centuries: Brochy, Brothy, Brothie, Brothu, Brode. Like so many great mysteries, there is said to be a curse against the clan chiefs, and MacBeth met the three witches on a Brodie heath. Ownership was passed to the National Trust for Scotland in 1978. Brodie Castle is open to the public certain times of the year. Great quality clock and very well made. Just what I was looking for to finish my hall off. Looked in loads of other websites and eventually found exactly what I was looking for at Zazzle. Designe and colour is perfect. I just love it. Bought the medium size and fits well for where I was placing it.
