Scottish Lindsay Clan's Balcarres House Photo Poster

The Lindsay clan’s seat is Balcarres House, which dates from 1595 and is located north of Colinsburgh, a village in the East Neuk of Fife in Eastern Scotland. The mansion was built by John Lindsay (1552-1598), second son of David, 9th Earl of Crawford, and became the Lindsay family seat. It has never been associated with the Crawford Clan, which is from western Scotland. The property is protected as a category A listed building, and the grounds are included on the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significant gardens.
