He is dressed in a blue suit with a blue background. All of his self portraits painted in Saint-Remy are from the left, the side without the mutilated ear. About the artist: Vincent Willem van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Post Impressionist painter whose work was most notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty, and bold color.
