Self-Portrait (1887) by Dutch post-impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh. In 1886 Van Gogh moved to Paris, where he created at least twenty-four self portraits during his two year stay. He had studied the technique of pointillism, but applied the marks in his own unique way. The densely dabbed brushwork and intense colours became a hallmark of Van Gogh’s style.
