Seppuku of General Gidayu 1880 Poster
An image from the series called Tsuki Hyaku Shi (100 aspects of the moon). It shows General Akashi Gidayu sitting on the floor of a room with a tiger painted on the screen to his right. He is holding a tanto (short sword) in his right hand. The papers in front of him are his death poem (see upper right).
