Shakespeare Sonnet 18 (XVIII) on Parchment Tea Towel

What would life be without poetry in general - or Shakespeare in particular? A while back, I decided to make products using Shakespeare's sonnets, but I felt my design was a bit unfulfilled at the time, so I revamped it a bit to something more to my liking. Traditional yet original. The background is a parchment texture I made a while back, and I also found a calligraphic typeface for it that has the almost unique feature of having both historical gravity as well as modern legibility. Obviously there are lots of sonnets to get through, so if you like this design, but cannot find your favourite work by the bard already made in it, please email me at mail@galleryhakon.com to let me know and I'll get to it right away. This particular one is sonnet 18 (XVIII), which reads: Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate: Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer's lease hath all too short a date; Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimmed; And every fair from fair sometime declines, By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed; But thy eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st, Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade, When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st: So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. By many considered the most "romantic" of his sonnets, this one is perhaps the one most suitable as a gift to your significant other for Valentine's Day, anniversary, special birthday, as a morning present after a wedding, or even as part of your wedding theme.

This is a nice quality, large kitchen towel made of microfiber, with a custom print from one of my paintings. The printing turned out well and the colors look vibrant.

Each year I receive a call from at least one relative asking for the family cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving. This year I had one of the tea towels made with the recipe imprinted. I know they will love it! Very good replica of the original image.
