Shakespeare Sonnet 29 (XXIX) on Parchment Favour Box

What would life be without poetry in general - or Shakespeare in particular? A while back, I decided to make products using Shakespeare's sonnets, but I felt my design was a bit unfulfilled at the time, so I revamped it a bit to something more to my liking. Traditional yet original. The background is a parchment texture I made a while back, and I also found a calligraphic typeface for it that has the almost unique feature of having both historical gravity as well as modern legibility. Obviously there are lots of sonnets to get through, so if you like this design, but cannot find your favourite work by the bard already made in it, please email me at mail@galleryhakon.com to let me know and I'll get to it right away. This particular one is sonnet 29 (XXIX), which reads: When, in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes, I all alone beweep my outcast state, And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries, And look upon myself, and curse my fate, Wishing me like to one more rich in hope, Featured like him, like him with friends possessed, Desiring this man's art and that man's scope, With what I most enjoy contented least; Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising, Haply I think on thee, and then my state, Like to the lark at break of day arising From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate; For thy sweet love rememb’red such wealth brings That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

We bought these for our wedding in Italy and they were absolutely perfect. Couldn’t be easier to personalise and were really easy to assemble. Perfect for biscuits for our favours. Perfect - exactly as it looked on screen
