A Siberian Tiger emerges from a snow-laden forest in the Russian Far East. The Siberian Tiger is also known as the Amur Tiger and the Ussuri Tiger. Russian (Cyrillic) text beneath the image reads "Ussuriiskii Tigr" (Ussuri Tiger). Largest of the tiger sub-species, the Amur, or Siberian, Tiger is highly endangered. They are found in the Amur River area on the border of China and Russia. A few may still survive in North Korea.
