Silver Birch Wood - Blank Greetings Card

This picture was inspired by the film House of Flying Daggers and the scene where a lone horseman wonders into a Silver Birch wood. I was taken by how stark it all looked and at the same time, how beautiful. My version is set in Spring but in the film it was Winter. Silver Birch are very beautiful trees with a hint of fantasy about them. Drawn with a technical pen, coloured ink washes and a white gel ink pen.
