Sleeping Cherub (Putto) (by Léon Bazille Perrault) Watch
This design features a painting by the French artist Léon Bazille Perrault (1832–1908), who was a student of student of William Bouguereau and François-Edouard Picot. It shows a putto (plural "putti"), which is a traditional figure in a work of art depicted as a chubby male child with winged. In the history of art, the putto came to represent the sacred cherub. This cherub is sleeping on a cloud, symbolising the heavens. The original painting was produced in 1882.
