The design is the same on both sides of the ornament. It is my own redrawing of the "Jubilee" version of the Medal of St. Benedict, a version newly designed in 1880 under the supervision of the monks of the Benedictine monastery of Montecassino, Italy, to mark the 1400th anniversary of the birth of St. Benedict.
