St. Kyriaki of Nicomedia Orthodox Prayer Card

St. Kyriaki of Nicomedia, the Great Martyr, lived during the latter part of the 3rd century, a time of great Christian persecution. She consecrated herself to Christ at a young age. She was very beautiful and had many suitors. She rejected all of them. One was so furious, his family told the emperor, Christian persecutor, Diocletian. He ordered Kyriaki tortured. When she still refused, he gave her to his co-emperor who also tortured her when she refused to renounce her faith. Eventually, she was martyred.
