St. Philip the Apostle (JMAS 10) Canvas Print

Image Credit (JMAS 10): Antique image of St. Philip the Apostle from a late 19th-century devotional print in chromolithography with gilt accents originally published by Josef Müller, Art Publisher, Munich, Germany, from the designer’s private collection of religious ephemera. The image is one of twelve in the publisher’s Apostle Series (No. 12155). The lush floral ornamentation at the bottom of the picture derives from miniatures, that is, the small illustrations used to decorate ancient or mediaeval illuminated manuscripts, in the Vatican Library. + Here, in the roundel at the top of the picture, St. Philip holds a tall, thin cross which is one of his principal attributes the other being a basket of loaves and fishes. + Feast: May 3 + Prefer a different background colour?
