St. Urho's Day is celebrated on March 16th, just one day before St. Patrick's Day. It is an observance that was started by the Finnish up in Minnesota years ago and its popularity has been growing widely across the US for years. It is said that St. Urho drove the grasshoppers out of Finland and thus saved their grapes (which they made into wine!). Some say it was greated to get a headstart on the Irish from drinking all the beer up! The story can be found on my website at http://www.brownielocks.com/urho.html The official colours are purple (to represent the grapes) and green (to represent the grasshoppers.) The item was heavier than I thought, which is a good thing. A lot of t-shirts these days are made from low quality thin cotton which don't last. This is much thicker cotton that should last much longer. The print was centred perfectly. It is a good size and the colours are nice and vibrant. Exactly as the image shows.
