Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853 - 1890) Starry Night, 1889, Oil on canvas Unframed: 73 × 92 cm (28.7 × 36.2 in) This painting depicts the view from the east facing window of Van Gogh's asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, he added an idealised village. It has been in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City since 1941. This masterpiece is regarded among his finest works.
