Stars and Stripes, American FLAG, Old Glory Poster

The flag of the United States of America is made up of 13 alternating horizontal red and white stripes and a blue rectangle with 50 white five-pointed stars. The stars represent the 50 federal states of the United States and the stripes represent the original 13 colonies. The flag is a symbol of the freedoms and rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, as well as of the pride and diversity of American society. The current version of the flag was designed by a high school student in 1958 and approved by President Eisenhower. Prior to that, the flag underwent 27 changes, adding a star and a stripe for each new state until 1818.
