Statue at Turkey Run State Park Postcard
The statue is titled "Subjugation" and is located just behind the Inn. The statue is in honour of Juliet V. Strauss who was instrumental in Turkey Run becoming an Indiana state park. Strauss was a writer in the early 1900s who lived in Rockville. Her husband owned the newspaper there and Juliet wrote for the Ladies Home Journal as well as the local paper. A biography of her has been written by Ray E. Boomhower and a photo and story of the statue is in that book. the author at Turkey Run State Park. Erected by the Woman's Press Club of Indiana, the sculpture, called "Subjugation" was crafted by Myra R. Richards.
