Built in 1880 by the Detroit Dry Dock Company in Wyandotte, Michigan for the Detroit & Cleveland Steam Navigation Company of Detroit, Michigan. Renamed City of Alpena on April 25, 1885. Renamed State of Ohio on February 14,1892.
