Steampunk - Death writer Canvas Print

The Death Writer, or sometimes known as the Ghost Writer, was the original way to communicate with the dead. Far more mechanical than current technology, it was built to last and was infinitely more accurate. Two people would arrange their hands on the keys - in the dark. A spirit from the great beyond would make contact with the subjects fingers and press down on the key. There was no guess work compared to today's cheaper standards. The message was typed out, and because it was done in the dark, there was no way to influence a word. Now of course the results were often a little muddy, the dead have no brain and it was often hard to interpret.
