Stift St. Florian Austria Shot Glass

Stift St. Florian, or St. Florian Monastery, is one of the oldest and most impressive Baroque monasteries in Austria. Founded over the burial site of Saint Florian in the 4th century, the present magnificent complex was constructed between 1686 and 1750 by master builders Carlo Antonio Carlone and Jakob Prandtauer. It stands as a towering masterpiece of Austrian Baroque architecture, renowned for its grand proportions, sweeping courtyards, and its deep-rooted cultural and musical heritage. Inside, the monastery houses the breathtaking Bruckner Organ, named after the famous composer Anton Bruckner, who served as the organist here and is buried directly beneath the instrument. Visitors are captivated by the magnificent library, filled with tens of thousands of historic manuscripts, and the breathtaking Marble Hall. Surrounded by the rolling green hills of Upper Austria, the monastery remains an active spiritual centre and a monument to European artistic achievement.
