Strawberry Square Wall Clock

...Inside, everything shines with antique gilding and smells of coffee and cinnamon. My companion doesn’t want to go there, but I do. I get up, pull the heavy door, and enter. I sit down at a massive wooden table. There is bustle all around, the clink of coins, deals are made, bets are played, “one-armed bandits” ring, giving out winnings. On the floor under my feet are several fancy bronze pendants and a large coin. I pick up one pendant, hide it in my wallet, and hold a coin in my hand. I've been here before...
