The early nineteenth century brought about the steam engine and the Industrial Revolution. Production of Steam locomotives was an industry in itself. By 1825, the use of passenger locomotives was increasing as well. In the early1900's, express locomotives began to emerge and the steam engines grew bigger and faster. 1960 brought about an abrupt end of the locomotive era.
