Sunset Duomo Piazzale Michelangelo Florence Italy

I took this photograph of the Duomo (or Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore) from the Piazzale Michelangelo using a long telephoto lens one evening at sunset. The Duomo as it is more commonly known as was originally built in the 13th century by Arnolfo di Cambio though the famous dome was not added for a further 200 years in the 15 th century. This dome is based on a design by Filippo Brunelleschi. There are statues to these two architects within the catherdral itself What attracted me to this image was the sun reflecting on the roofs and buildings below the Duomo. For anyone who has been to Florence it is easy to see why this city has been called the "cultural capital of Tuscany". If you wish you can delete the text or even transfer the image to another product. I have left the inside blank for you to write your own message.
