Moonlight Over Lower Tampa Bay Showing Main Ship Channel Bridge of Sunshine Skyway, Florida, is the text on this reproduction of a vintage post card of the old bridge circa 1959. The bridge opened in 1954 and was damaged during the worst bridge disaster in Florida history in 1980. The main span toppled into Tampa Bay and 35 people died. The bridge was replaced by a cable-stayed main span in 1987.
