Taos Indian Holding a Water Jug by Blumenschein

Taos Indian Holding a Water Jug by Blumenschein

Taos Indian Holding a Water Jug (1911) by Blumenschein is a vintage American West fine art portrait painting. A New Mexico Native American Indian with a traditional headdress made of feathers holding a water jug. About the artist: Ernest Leonard Blumenschein (1874-1960) was an American artist. In 1897, during a Western trip he came to Taos, a territory of New Mexico. Struck by the sweeping landscapes and the diverse Native American, Spanish-American, and American cultures of the region, he determined then and there to work as a painter. He was a co-founder of the Taos Society of Artists and part of the Taos art colony which from 1898 was an important part of the life of Taos, New Mexico.

Creator Review
Looked great and was perfect for my Nana's 99th it arrived super quick so much quicker than sending the original from the other side of the world! My Nan loved my artwork too and the picture of us inside helped her remember who I was as she has Alzheimer's. Crisp and clear. Bright and colorful true to the original artwork I created. The photo we placed inside also looked great and clear.
