The Apple Tree (by Bessie MacNicol) Napkin

This design features a painting by the Scottish artist Bessie MacNicol (1869–1904), who was associated with the Glasgow School of art. It depicts a young woman in a white dress as she sits gracefully beneath the boughs of an apple tree. She is holding a bouquet of flowers in her left hand and a lady's mirror in her right hand. Her hair is chestnut brown and it falls down to the nape of her neck; she has some flowers in her hair too. She is smiling at the viewer with a simple and carefree joy. The leaves of the apple tree are green behind her. It is a bright summer's day and she appears to be sitting on the grass. The original artwork was painted by Bessie MacNicol in 1899.
