The Cartwheel Galaxy | Hubble & JWST Jigsaw Puzzle

This image is a combination of X-Rays data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory and from JWST (James Webb Space Telescope) infrared data that shows a group of galaxies including the Cartwheel Galaxy, located approximately 500 million light-years away. This galaxy is made of an active outer ring full of star formations and a bright inner ring, both expanding like shockwaves from the centre. The X-rays are shown in blue/purple and the infrared in red/orange/yellow/green/blue. A lot of distant galaxies are in the background.
