The Declaration of Independence, ca. 1850 lithograph by Napoleon Sarony, lithographer. Based on either a reverse presentation of the 1817-1818 painting by John Trumbull in the US Capitol or an earlier painting currently owned by Yale.
Hand coloured print with interior scene showing some of the composers and signers of the Declaration of Independence. Drafting committee presenting their draught to the Continental Congress in 1776. Features John Hancock, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson.
Digitally edited by VintageSketch to reduce tears, age spots, and clarify text. Colour enhanced.
