"The Sick Rose" - this is another one of the paintings I did for my first gallery show - Alchemy Unleashed! The original painting itself sold there at the show, but luckily I scanned her in and have prints, etc. available. "The Sick Rose" is inspired by the 1794 William Blake poem of the same title (from one of his illuminated books, no stranger to Alchemy himself). *** "O Rose thou art sick. The invisible worm, That flies in the night In the howling storm: Has found out thy bed Of crimson joy: And his dark secret love Does thy life destroy." *** I however have interpreted with a slightly sweeter tone! I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame.
This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again.
One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up.
Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font.
Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
